kudos to our department

I'd like to take this opportunity to announce to cyberspace that our biology department is already at par with biological research of the new millenium...our best thesis is on bioinformatics...computational biology (frankly, my feeble mind is still trying to fathom the topic but it has information about genes that are being activated during exercise). At last, we are not archaic. I have been a huge fan of this new field ever since I came across Francis Collins and his book entitled The Language of God a few years ago. Almost all the science updates I read from Discover, some science blogs, and even my favorite fields of Evolutionary Biology & Parasitology, have something to do with breakthroughs based on bioinformatics.

"Biology in the 21st century is being transformed from a purely lab-based science to an information science as well." -NCBI

I agree.

So congratulations to our seniors! Well done Professor of Bioinformatics who incorporated this field to our department (wink wink), who is incidentally a high officer of our country's Mensa society...and who is among the most down-to-earth and accommodating people I've ever encountered. I'm not worthy.
