the zen eater

Eating out is one of the best forms of leisure. It only becomes stressful to picky diners who will not take less than perfect service. I met a good friend at the mall yesterday and chose this world famous cafe since it wasn't crowded and was perfect for very long, casual conversations. Unfortunately, almost all their sandwiches were unavailable at that time (the mall had just opened...plus people go there for the coffee and not really for the sandwiches)...I already gave my payment to the person on the counter and he was about to give me my change when the kitchen staff informed him that my order wasn't available.

..it was a choice between becoming irate or just letting it go...he didn't know that the darn sandwich wasn't available anyway.

I've always practised a sense of calm consumerism. It's difficult to be in sales. It's hard to pretend to like consumers and allow them to be right all the time even when they're obviously taking advantage of the customer is right rule. Being a sales person is a noble job.

So I salute you, noble blue collar employees who earn an honest day's work. You are the heart of the workforce.
