defiance on the way to numbness

I had the unfortunate experience of being hospitalized for week-long abdominal pain. Pain that can be likened to somewhere between ice getting stuck on one's skin and a gas leak-caused explosion. I was sure I had ulcer. After blood tests, a full abdominal ultrasound and endoscopy, the diagnosis was pan gastropathy and cholelithiasis. Meaning, I have a very inflamed stomach and I have a gall stone. The gall stone was accidentally discovered but was on close watch because if it caused the pain, then it'd have to be surgically removed. Geez, talk about being the poster girl of medical procedures. So the whole sudden inexplicable weight loss and immediate satiation can be attributed to gastritis. And I was specifically instructed to avoid citrus fruits, spicy food, alcohol, fatty food, soda, coffee...coffee...coffee. I am either being punished or was generally reckless. Ayayay.
