The joys of being Homo sapiens

The only time that a third of my brain, particularly my logic center and probably my Broca's lobe, took a rest was last Monday before my endoscopy. It was just half an hour but it was refreshing. In a non-scientologist way. During sleep, our brain tries to make sense of what our conscious selves experienced or thought of while we were awake. It occasionally translates into dreams, but the most high impact ideas are filed into long-term storage. I tell you, the brain is incomparable to any computer. It's encrypted, multitasking and so complex. So complex such that much of what it does can't be exactly described. Plus it's heavy at over 1,000cc. The human brain is the largest in the living world in terms of its size to body size ratio. I'm very happy to be Homo sapiens. I don't think I'm cut out for the whole stone tool-making and mastodon hunting activities of Homo erectus.
