unenthusiastic

Have you ever been a passenger of a moving vehicle and stared out the window for a substantial amount of time without really looking at the places you pass by? Mental pictures appear like a fast-forwarded home movie...as if you were scrolling your social media timeline for the main purpose of letting time slip by. You go over your to-do list in your head and as you finish enumerating each item, your mind proceeds into this void—almost like an odd combination of calm and turbulence. The calm associated with “what to think of next?” and turbulence attributable to the anxiety of “is that all?” You proceed to watching nonsensical, slapstick videos online just to guffaw and force your brain to produce neurotransmitters or signalling chemicals associated with feeling good. And then what?...
