Audible thoughts
All the leaves are brown, and the sky is grey. I've been for a walk on a winter's day...
But it's not winter yet, Beach Boys. Not yet. I never completely understood that song until now, mainly because I grew up in a tropical country. The sound of dry fallen leaves when you walk along the street is a different sound. The ability to hear yourself walk outside...to hear yourself think. It's a gift. My heart breaks knowing that on the other side of the world, amid this pandemic, there are those who continue to live day by day---just trying to get through the day and not drown in rising waters exacerbated by non-stop extreme weather. Back to this place. I understand why those who were lucky enough to be born and raised on this side of the world have little appreciation of their luck. Unfair, isn't it? Please don't tell me it is, what it is. Butterfly effect. Indifference can cause calamities.
