OOO returning post-holidays
Officially activated the automatic reply after a full month's heads up of the upcoming out-of-office (OOO) on the email signature. Any request made within 48 hours that is equivalent to 2-4 weeks worth of work is deliberate provocation and power play. A simple, clear, non-combative, and non-patronizing response indicating that it will be on queue the following year is sufficient. I find major holiday or end-of-year due dates for any kind of paper output questionable, and I wonder who arbitrates or reads anything during those arbitrary dates. In my cynical opinion, I think those who make such out-of-touch decisions thrive in creating misery and are unable to see beyond their microscopic view of the general milieu.
What am I doing? I shoudn't be ranting. Banish negative thoughts, my late father once told me. After all, "...the party's on, the feeling's here, that only comes this time of year..." Yes, Mr. Macca, I will aim to simply have a wonderful Christmas time.
