corollary to my previous magma-infused post

There are also some developments in cyber/social network issues that put a smile on my face, make me nod my head & say "good for you, well done mate." Because we should have realized by now that there is no point stopping our pace or maintaining a backwards pace (which, in my opinion, are the exact same thing...in terms of relativity). Walt Disney said "keep moving forward" or was it "keep looking forward" or something within that vicinity of the profound. I'm utilitarian in this case. I like for us all to be constantly moving. I also have the strong belief that everything in the universe is spherical; on some sort of orbit or revolution; and that there is no such thing as the asymptotic ends of probability density functions that approach negative to positive infinity. No, the expanse in our World is not so vast that we all tend to dissipate like gas particles. There's bound to be constant collisions...like periodic encounters with comets (except that, thank God, comets don't collide with Earth).

There are cyber/social network issues that constantly tempt me to rip the monitor out of its set-up and transform it into a lethal projectile. Or wish that I had a huge red button to press in case of targeted missile launches. *cue Vader-like breathing* Enough. Moving on.

The joys of being Homo sapiens

The only time that a third of my brain, particularly my logic center and probably my Broca's lobe, took a rest was last Monday before my endoscopy. It was just half an hour but it was refreshing. In a non-scientologist way. During sleep, our brain tries to make sense of what our conscious selves experienced or thought of while we were awake. It occasionally translates into dreams, but the most high impact ideas are filed into long-term storage. I tell you, the brain is incomparable to any computer. It's encrypted, multitasking and so complex. So complex such that much of what it does can't be exactly described. Plus it's heavy at over 1,000cc. The human brain is the largest in the living world in terms of its size to body size ratio. I'm very happy to be Homo sapiens. I don't think I'm cut out for the whole stone tool-making and mastodon hunting activities of Homo erectus.

defiance on the way to numbness

I had the unfortunate experience of being hospitalized for week-long abdominal pain. Pain that can be likened to somewhere between ice getting stuck on one's skin and a gas leak-caused explosion. I was sure I had ulcer. After blood tests, a full abdominal ultrasound and endoscopy, the diagnosis was pan gastropathy and cholelithiasis. Meaning, I have a very inflamed stomach and I have a gall stone. The gall stone was accidentally discovered but was on close watch because if it caused the pain, then it'd have to be surgically removed. Geez, talk about being the poster girl of medical procedures. So the whole sudden inexplicable weight loss and immediate satiation can be attributed to gastritis. And I was specifically instructed to avoid citrus fruits, spicy food, alcohol, fatty food, soda, coffee...coffee...coffee. I am either being punished or was generally reckless. Ayayay.
