So I couldn't help but rant about the musings of my lunacy to a friend over lunch yesterday. I initially thought that compartmentalizing my life is good, until this friend of mine told me that it wasn't necessary. So here I am telling myself with a pointed finger that *you better aim for normalcy or you might end up confusing your crazy ideas and reality*...once again, this is abstraction. My apologies.

i've been bad
I know that I've been thinking too much of myself lately. Tsk. I didn't know that my son liked this particular commercial and I didn't put plastic cover on his books (although his name was misspelled in all of them and had them returned to his teacher...so I have an excuse). I'm becoming a workaholic. I don't like myself right now.

note to self
Even though I support the work of some of the greatest thinkers of this planet, it does not necessarily mean that I agree with their general moral values as persons. So inasmuch as Ayn Rand's ideas about art and human life are, in my humble non-expert opinion, the best expressions of what I originally thought of as incommunicable, I am in no danger of becoming an atheist.

Ladies and gentlemen, presenting my latest fixation: free mall-wide wifi access. You can start throwing your tomatoes at me now...haha, i won't feel 'em you dumdums!

passing the time
I'm having some sort of diarrheic thinking spree right now, but the thoughts are flying out like....yeah, like the Beatles song...thoughts are flying out like endless rain into a paper cup, they slither while they pass, they slip away....
You know how your mind and chest want to just merge and form this concrete idea, but you just can't seem to actually verbalize the said idea? But the idea already exists? It's just caged into this limbo of noncommunicable ideas that are in danger of vaporizing into nonexistence? But you just want to hold on to it, because you know your life will change if you can just immortalize it using language?
Congratulations to me! I just passed the time! I am hopeless.

rambling about nothing
Failures and unmet expectations make life more meaningful. It is in looking forward to something or courageously facing the unknown that makes life worth living. Those who get what they want all the time probably have personalities resembling....bond paper. So misery does have a transcendental purpose after all.

and then Magritte says...
...that "mystery means nothing, it is unknowable."
I can't believe that I am about to disagree with my favorite painter. In relation to my previous post, mystery is not necessarily unknowable and it surely means something. Whatever the meaning is, it most probably exists. I've made it clear that I believe in God....a theist God. A God that is involved in our daily circumstances. A God whose idea of timing is inexplicably complex and occasionally frustrating.
So I'll just say that maybe the Truth about the Holy Trinity is something we won't really be able to appreciate at this particular moment of human existence. Of course, that doesn't mean we shouldn't continue to pursue our comprehension of it, among other things.
My typing skills and short-term memory can't cope with the questions that my mind is enumerating right now. Argh. The questions just escaped. Buried with the immediate past. Argh.

Inappropriate title for a blogpost that is supposed to be about faith. Anyway, I just read a passage from a book in our washroom that discusses the universality of Catholicism. (I will deliberately NOT make mention of the circumstances surrounding that reading session; I'm sure you already know, you silly, silly non-existent readers!) Being catholic is being universal. The opposite of catholic is not protestant nor muslim nor hindu...it is isolation. Fantabulous. Intergalactic.
Another topic randomly entered my head right now. I once attended a doctrine class that dealt with the multiple natures of Christ and the Holy Trinity. This is the mystery of our faith. God with three persons and one nature is really difficult to comprehend and I still can't explain it (a priest friend once admitted that he's always intimidated about delivering a homily about the Holy Trinity). Fortunately, I was able to slightly understand the necessity of Christ (one person) to have two natures (divine and human):
Okay, here goes. Humans have offended God so that humans must then pay for the offenses (sins). Now, the only way full payment can be achieved is if the indebted is of equal nature to the one who has been offended. So, Christ must therefore be human and divine at the same time. Whether these two natures interact with each other is another question. What I understood was that these natures were independent. Christ performing miracles is Christ as divine. Christ being hungry and tested by the devil those 40 days and nights in the desert is Christ as human. Christ raising Himself up from the dead is Christ as divine. Christ dying on the cross is Christ as human. Basically, Christ performed all that He did to fulfill what has been prophesied. He CHOSE to do the things He did, because it was the Father's will.
Christ was obedient. And He was perfect.

The Wheel of Fortune
Normally, people should feel flattered and pompous when given awards or recognition. Call me psychotic or neurotic or robotic or whatever, but I feel really uncomfortable about recognition. Simply because I know for a fact that when you are seemingly at the top of the "wheel"---you have nowhere else to go but down. Call it pure pessimism, but that's the truth. I'm suspicious of good things lately. I always predict that these things come with a price.
I need to be better influenced. I think. Anyway, at least I'm happy to have found really good friends. Real people. Odd people. Just like me. That's what's comforting right now.

sometimes you just gotta let it all out
I've always been funny. Or so I've been told.
But you do know the story of Charlie Chaplin eh? Sad. And Peewee Herman? A travesty. And how Mr. Bean is really serious? And I have no idea where all this is coming from.
Ive been over the hill and back
Survived every kind of attack
Its been a few years at that
As a matter of fact

The clone stamp tool is a wonderful wonderful tool. I hope we can just clone stamp everything in real life. Or maybe adjust the color balance of the world. And make everything: sepia.

I really don't appreciate it when your ugliness is being rubbed in. I really don't. Like how you should be thankful about some "lucky" fate you're in, because if it were not for THAT you'd be in a vacuum of never-ending ugliness. Argh. Argh. Argh. Just leave me alone.
