Fading memories and reasons unknown

I listened to a few scientists talk about human memory and I had a temporary desire to be an experimental subject. I think I’ve lost some memories. Many of the journal entries I started on July 3, 1994 are almost fictional to me since I have to wring my brain to obtain any image in my head related to certain events that clearly happened but I couldn’t recall. I searched a previous blogpost about my inability to memorize pieces of music or have deleted memories of pieces of music that I’ve actually memorized and performed in the past. I’ve lost memories yet I have a few vivid ones that remain.

On an unrelated note, I wonder why certain things need to happen or be felt when those things or feelings don’t necessarily serve as means to some end. I know that I once posted about focusing on the journey and not the destination. So, God, the cosmos, and everything divine: Again, why?

Tanggap (Accept)

This week has been eventful—a roller coaster...no, it’s more analogous to being the soldier in that famous running clip from the movie “1917” [YouTube clip] in which I have a specific path that I need to tread (perhaps a running route) and I fall down, get up, carry on, get pushed, carry on—while amidst chaotic circumstances. Reaching the main goal (of the week) mattered in the end yet there were many little achievements in between the many variable-sized rejections. There was a regression towards the mean. A ‘goldilocks’ level of being. Neither overachieving nor underachieving. Not too lucky nor too unlucky.
I have a better appreciation of this equitable distribution of joys and tribulations.
I revisited an over 2-year old post that I entitled Pain and Peace [post] where I wrote “tanggap lang nang tanggap” (tang-gap lung nang tang-gap) or “Accept and accept.”

Today’s mm-dd-yyyy date is 02-20-2020. Numerology fans probably consider this a big deal. Well, woo hoo it’s been about 2 decades in the 21st century. Let’s all take a shot of...water? Couldn’t think of a more universally tolerated drink. Nobody’s allergic to water, right? I digress.
